Parasites are divided into two groups:
endoparasites and ectoparasites.

Endoparasites are parasites that live inside the body of the host,

whereasectoparasites are parasites that live on the outer surface of the host and generally attach themselves during feeding.

exoparasite. n another word for → ectoparasite. ♦ exoparasitic adj. ectoparasite. n a parasite, such as the flea, that lives on the outer surface of its host, (Also called) exoparasite.

Parasites that live in the body are called endoparasites. An example of an endoparasite is a hookworm that lives in the hosts gut. Parasites that live on the outside of the body are called ectoparasites. Epiparasite is a parasite that feeds off another parasite, this is called hyperparasitoidism
