• Its a consumer in an electric circuit.

• It contains a wire filament heated to such a high temperature that it glows with visible light.

• The bulb is filled with argon or nitrogen which retards the evaporation of the tungsten filament compared to operating it in open.

• It was invented in 1879 by Thomas Alva Edison.
