An electron is a negatively charged subatomic particle. It can be either free (not attached to any atom), or bound to the nucleus of anatom. Electrons in atoms exist in spherical shells of various radii, representing energy levels. The larger the spherical shell, the higher the energycontained in the electron.

electron negativity:-)

● Tendency to attract shared pair of electrons towards itself is commonly known as electron negativity.

factors on which electronegativity depends:-)

1:- nuclear charge : nuclear charge directly proportional to electron negativity.

i.e. with increase in nuclear charge electronegativity also increase

2:- size of atom

size of atom is inversely proportional to electron negativity.

i.e will increase in size of atom electronegativity. continuously decrease

3:- Oxidation State:

Oxidation state is directly proportional to electron negativity.

i.e with increase in oxidation state electronegativity also increases
