Endarch is the arrangement in which the protoxylem is directed towards the centre and metaxylem elements towards the periphery. The development of the xylems in this arrangement follows the centrifugal pattern. It is the characteristics of the stem of flowering plants.

➣Endarch condition of xylem means, the metaxylem lies toward the centre and protoxylem lies toward the periphery.

➣Endarch xylem is seen in monocot and decor stem.

➣In this condition, the protoxylem develops from the innermost procambial cells and progress outward. Hence, the metaxylem appears to the outside and protoxylem appears toward inside.
