⇒The process of writing an expression in terms of its factor is called Factorisation
⇒We can factorise a polynomial by using these methods :
- By taking out common factors
- By grouping the terms having common factor
- By using the formula ( x² - y² ) = (x - y) (x + y)
⊕Factorisation by taking out common Factors :
- Find the HCF of the terms.
- Divide each of the terms by their HCF
- Express each term as the product of the HCF and the quotient in the above step.
