⇒When an algebraic expression is written as the product of two or more expressions so each of these expression is called Factorisation .

⇒The  process of writing an expression in terms of its factor is called Factorisation

\bold{\green{Factorisation \ of \ Polynomials }}

⇒We can factorise a polynomial by using these methods :

  • By taking out common factors
  • By grouping the terms having common factor
  • By using the formula ( x² - y² ) = (x - y) (x + y)

Factorisation by taking out common Factors :

  • Find the HCF of the terms.
  • Divide each of the terms by their HCF
  • Express each term as the product of the HCF and the quotient in the above step.
  • Take out the HCF .
