The life processes of all living things are carried out by secreting of certain chemicals called as hormones. Hormone secretion is short but long lasting. They are secreted by glands directly into blood streams. Some are such Hormones which are secreted through ducts and then in blood. Hormones are secreted in small quantities. They are secreted on feedback mechanism.
Feedback mechanism of hormones is a simple process. This maintains an equilibrium in all secretions. Every hormone is secreted by this mechanism. For the example, when blood glucose level decreases at a certain limit, the pancreatic tissues sense it. And pancreatic hormone insuline starts to secret.
Whenever, this glucose level in blood comes to the normal, tissues sense it and the secretion of hormone insuline stops. The hormone oxytocin is secreted to enhance the labour contractions. Similarly, all the hormones are secreted like this feedback mechanism.
