When there is a fusion in the male gamete and female gamete for the formation of zygote, this action or you may say process of fertilising an egg is termed as fertilization.

There are two types of fertilization ;

★ Internal Fertilization

★ External Fertilization

When the sperm, or male gamete and the ovum, or female gamete fuse together, then the product or output of fertilization is called zygote.
