Fleming's right-hand rule gives which direction the current flows. The right hand is held with the thumb, index finger and middle finger mutually perpendicular to each other, as shown in the diagram. The thumb is pointed in the direction of the motion of the conductor relative to the magnetic field.

Fleming's Left Hand Rule is used to determine the direction of force on a current carrying conductor placed in magnetic field. It states that stretch the thumb, the forefinger and the middle finger of the left hand so that they are perpendicular to each other....
