Answer:

1.A combination reaction is a reaction where two or more elements or compounds combine to form a single compound. Such reactions may be represented by equations of the following form: X + Y → XY. The combination of two or more elements and form one compound is called combination reaction.

2.A composition reaction produces a single substance from multiple reactants. Adecomposition reaction produces multiple products from a single reactant. Combustion reactions are the combination of some compound with oxygen to make oxides of the other elements as products (although nitrogen atoms react to make N 2).

3.Displacement reaction is a chemicalreaction in which a more reactive element displaces a less reactive element from its compound. Both metals and non-metals take part indisplacement reactions. Example :Reaction of iron nails with copper sulphate solution.

4.Redox is a type of chemical reaction in which the oxidation states of atoms are changed. Redox reactions are characterized by the actual or formal transfer of electrons between chemical species, most often with one species undergoing oxidation while another species undergoes reduction

A reaction in which two or more substances combine together to form a single substance is called a combination reaction or synthesis.

A + B > AB

A combination of substances A and B (reactants) takes place to give a molecule of a new substance, AB.(Product)

EXAMPLE: Carbon burns in oxygen to form a gaseous compound, carbon dioxide.

C (s) + O2 (g) ——> CO2 + Heat

\large\boxed{\fcolorbox{black}{lightpink}{DECOMPOSITION\:REACTION}}

The chemical reaction in which a compound splits into two or more simpler substances (elements or compounds) is called decomposition reaction.

Decompositions is the breaking up of a compound either into elements or compounds, such that these products do not recombine to form the original compound.

EXAMPLE: The compound mercuric oxide , when heated ,decomposes to form two elements, mercury and oxygen.

2HgO (s) > 2Hg (l) + O2 (g)

\large\boxed{\fcolorbox{black}{lightpink}{DISPLACEMENT\:REACTION}}

It is a chemical change in which a more active element displaces a less active element from its salt solution.

AB + C > AC + B

Element C displaces, element B from the compound AB.

EXAMPLE:

CuSO4 + Zn > ZnSO4 + Cu

\large\boxed{\fcolorbox{black}{lightpink}{OXIDATION\:AND\:REDUCTION\:REACTION}}

The term oxidation was originally used to describe reactions in which an element combines with oxygen.

EXAMPLE: The reaction between magnesium metal and oxygen to form magnesium oxide involves the oxidation of magnesium.

2Mg + O2 > 2MgO

Reduction can be considered as the removal of oxygen, the addition of hydrogen, or the gain of electrons.

Reduction can be considered as the removal of oxygen, the addition of hydrogen, or the gain of electrons.Metal ores which are oxides are reduced to the metal - this is how iron is made from iron ore. The reducing agent is carbon monoxide.

Fe2O3 + 3CO > 2Fe + 3CO2
