G is the universal gravitational constant. It's accepted value is 6.673×10^-11 N m^2/kg^2.
g is the acceleration due gravity exerted by the earth. It's value is 9.8m/s^2.
Relation:
According to Newton's universal law of gravitation
F=G Mm/R^2. ____(1)
Also, F = ma
Here the acceleration is acceleration due to gravity, hence we can write a as g.
So, F=mg _____(2)
Comparing both the equations,
mg=G Mm/R^2
g = GM/R^2
( where R is the radius).

Hope this helps you...
