Hi friend,
green house effect:
The greenhouse effect is the process by which radiation from a planet's atmosphere warms the planet's surface to a temperature above what it would be without its atmosphere.
global warming:
global warming is the increase of Earth's average temperature. releasing different types of harmful gases and deforestation and green
house gases will increases temperatures of earth,it means it causes global warming.
acid rain:
acid rain is a rain or any other form of precipitation that is unusually acidic, meaning that it possesses elevated levels of hydrogen ions. It can have harmful effects on plants, aquatic animals and infrastructure.
marble cancer:
The marble cancer refers to the corrosion of building and statues made up of marbles by action of sulfuric acid and nitric acid. The So2and NOx present in pollution get deposited on these buildings.
water pollution:
the water is polluted by pollutants like sulphur dioxide we call that pollution as water pollution.
potable water:
drinking water is known as potable water.
potable water is water that is safe to drinkor to use for good preparation without risk of health problems.
eutrophication:
Eutrophication is the process by which a body of water becomes enriched in dissolved nutrients that stimulate the growth of aquatic plant life usually resulting in the depletion of dissolved oxygen.
oil slick:
a film or layer of oil floating on an expanse of water.
hope it helps.........

Hi friend,
Green house effect-:
The trapping if heat rays by CO2 in the air thereby increasing earths temperature is called green house effect.
Global warming-:
Rise in earth's temperature due to trapping of heat rays is called global warming. This is because of burning of fuel which releases many harmful gases and by deforestation which inturn increases earth's temperature.
Acid rain-:
Industries produce pollutants like SO2 and NO2. These gases reacts with water vapour in air forming sulphuric acid and nitric acid and fall on earth as acid rain. It is very harmful for living being and aquatic life.
Marble cancer-:
Acid rain when we fall on earth it corrodes the marble of beautiful monuments like Taj Mahal and other marble too. This phenomena is known as marble cancer. It is very bad for the our beautiful sculptures of marble.
Water pollution-:
Contamination of water by sewage, chemicals, harmful substances, etc is known as water pollution.
Potable water-:
Water that is fit for drinking and is colourless, odourless and without any chemicals and which is 100% safe is called as potable water.
Eutrophication-:
Excessive growth of algae in water bodies due to washing away of nutrients from fields thus leading to water pollution.
Oil slick-:
The accidental spilling of oil in the water bodies which is also a source of water pollution.
Hope it helps..................
