Hierarchy means arrangement of things according to their ranks. Organisms aregroup in various hierarchical levels on the basis of the similar characteristics. This is known as taxonomic hierarchy. The highest level of classification of the living things is Kingdom and the lowest level is species . A kingom is divided into phyla and division. Phyla/Divison are composed of classes. Each class is divided into orders which are further divided into family. A family consists of many genera and each genus has several species .
