➡️Hydathodes are structures containing water pores located at leaf margins (Cook et al., 1952) that connect to the intracellular spaces and to the xylem vascular system.

➡️Hydathodes are the structures that discharge water from the interior of the leaf to its surface in a process called guttation.

1. In angiosperms some pores are present which provides them water, that pore is known as hypothodes.

2. It is a type of living cell.

3. Maximum of them do not contain chloroplast.

4. Hypothodes are responsible for occuring of guttation as well.

5. We can see it in rose, water hyacinth etc.

6. Hypothodes are categorised into two types active and passive hypothodes.

7. One important function of hypothodes is to decrease the concentration of the cytotoxic inorganic ions.

8. We see a whitish powdery substance on the surface of leaf sometimes, that is formed while decreasing the cytotoxic inorganic ions in them.
