In classical mechanics, impulse(symbolized by J or Imp) is the integral of a force, F, over the time interval, t, for which it acts. Since force is a vector quantity, impulse is also a vector in the same direction.

Hey !

Impulse:- The force which act on bodies for short time are called impulsive forces.

Let us consider an example :-

1) In hitting a ball with a bat.

2) In driving a nail into a wooden block with a hammer.

3) In firing a gun, etc.

An impulsive force does not remain constant but changes first from zero to maximum and then from maximum to zero. Thus it is not possible to measure easily easily the value of impulsive force because it changes fast with time. In such a case, measure the total effect of the force, called Impulse.

GOOD LUCK !
