• When the sample of molten sodium chloride with strontium chloride is crystallized, it can be witnessed that sites of $Na^+$ are occupied by $S r^{2+}$.
• In this case, S r^{2+} is considered as impurity and it accounts for the defect in the structure of $NaCl$.
• This is the best illustration for impurity defects and apart from this impurity defect is exhibited by solid solution of compounds such as $CdCl_2$ and $AgCl$.
