QUESTION:-

Define inertia in your own words

ANSWER:-

Definition of Inertia:-

  • Inertia is the innate property of an object that makes it oppose any force that would result in a change in its motion. A body at rest and a body in motion both oppose forces that might or might not result in acceleration. The inertia of an object can be assessed by its mass, which regulates its resistance to the action of a force, or by its moment of inertia about a certain axis, which calculates its resistance to the action of a torque about the equivalent axis.

  • Inertia in simple words can also be defined as a property of any matter by which it remains at the state of rest or in a state of uniform motion in the same straight pass until or unless an external force is acted upon that matter.
