Given, x=5sec theta

and, y=cot (90°- theta)

y=sec theta {cot(90°- theta)=sec theta}

y=sec theta

On putting these values of x and y in x^ - y^

we get,

= sec theta ^ - 5sec theta ^

= sec theta ^ (1 - 25)

= sec theta ^ . 24

= 24sec theta ^

Hence, x^ - y^ = 24 sec theta^

Hope it will help you. :)

revathi55: its answer is minus 25..
Nehakunwar1212: Oh
revathi55: ya
Nehakunwar1212: Yes it will be - 25
Nehakunwar1212: Sorry
revathi55: :)
Nehakunwar1212: sec ^ theta will cut each other and remains 5^
Nehakunwar1212: How's it will be - 25
Nehakunwar1212: ??
