When a farmer grows more than one type of crops simultaneously in the same field, the procedure is known as intercropping. It is beneficial than simple cropping pattern as the per capita income increases by this type of cropping pattern. It reduces the risk of soil erosion due to the presence of more roots under the surface. And in case of failure of one crop, another can be used.
