atoms of the same element which have same atomic number but different mass number are called isotopes
e.g. 1. chlorine has two isotopes i.e., chlorine 35 and chlorine 37
2. carbon has two isotopes i.e., carbon 12 and carbon 14

Isotops = They have same atomic no. but different mass no. As they are of same elements.
Ex= atomic no. Of Carbon is 6 but it occurs in nature with different mass no. One is 12 and second is 14.
