HERE'S YOUR ANSWER!!!
_____________________
Isotopes - These are the elements which have the same atomic number but different mass numbers I.e the number of neutrons varies.
Eg- The isotopes of Hydrogen => Protium (mass no. = 1) , Deuterium (mass no. = 2) and tritium (mass no. = 3).
Isobars - These are the elements with same mass number but different atomic number are refered to as Isobars.
E.g.- Calcium atomic no. 20 and argon atomic no. 18. Both of them have different atomic no. but their mass no. is same I.e mass no. = 40.
APPLICATIONS OF ISOTOPES:
1. An isotope of uranium is used in nuclear plants.
2. An isotope of cobalt is used to treat cancer.
3. An isotope of iodine is used to treat goitre.
