Define Janmashtami.

• This day, which is also known as Gokulashtami and Krishna Janmashtami, is observed to remember Lord Krishna's birth. The eighth son of Devki, Lord Krishna, was born on the eighth day of the dark fortnight of the month of Bhadrapada, according to mythology (August-September).
• The fortunate day that Lord Krishna was born on this planet is known as Janmashtami. In August or September, India celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna with great zeal and fervour. According to the Hindu calendar, this event is observed on Ashtami of Krishna Paksh, the eighth day of the dark fortnight.
