kinetic energy:energy possess by virtur of its motion is called kinetic energy.
potential energy:the energy possessed by a body due to its change in position or shape is called the potential energy.
example-moving of a car has kinetic energy.
an arrow and the stretched string on the bow has potential energy.
thanks......

Kinetic Energy:-

The energy of an object due to its motion is called kinetic energy. It is denoted by Ek.

Ek = 1/2mv²

where, m = mass

v = velocity

Example:-

A river flowing at a certain speed

An airplane in flight

etc.

Potential Energy:-

The energy stored in a body due to its position is called potential energy. It is denoted by Ep.

Ep = mgh

where, m = mass

g = gravitational acceleration

h = height

Example:-

A stretched spring in a pinball machine

A stick of dynamite

etc.

The SI unit of Kinetic Energy and Potential Energy is joule (J).
