- LAN : - LAN stands for Local Area Network. A local area network (LAN) is a network that connects computers and other devices in a relatively small area, typically a single building or a group of buildings. Most LANs connect workstations and personal computers and enable users to access data and devices (e.g., printers and modems) anywhere on the network.
- MAN: - MAN stands for Metropolitan Area Network. Metropolitan area network (MAN) is a computer network that interconnects users with computer resources in a geographic area or region larger than that covered by even a large local area network (LAN) but smaller than the area covered by a wide area network (WAN). It covers the area between one metropolitan city to another.
- WAN: - WAN stands for Wide Area Network. Wide Area Network (WAN) is a data network, usually used for connecting computers, that spans a wide geographical area. WANs can be used to connect cities, states, or even countries. WANs also transmit data at slower speeds than LANs.
