define latent heat describe the two types of latent heat
Answers
Latent heat : temperature does not change while a solid substance is melting or a liquid is boiling because the energy involved is used to enable the change of state to take place .the energy is hidden heat .is called latent heat
The two types of latent heat are :
Latent heat of vaporization : the heat energy required to change 1kg of a liquid into gas at atmospheric pressure and ai it's boiling point
Latent heat of fusion : the amount of heat energy required to change 1kg of solid into liquid at its melting point
Latent heat = the heat energy which is transferred for change its substance.
There are two types of latent heat :
1) latent heat of vaporisation = the
amount of heat energy in which 1kg liquid convert into gases state.
2) latent heat of fusion = the amount of heat energy in which 1 kg solid convert in liquid state
