The law of constant composition states that
In a chemical compound the elements are always present in definite proportions by mass.
For example, the compound co2 can formed in many ways:-
*by burning coke in air
*by heating lime stone
*by reacting sodium carbonate with dilute hydrochloric acid.
In all the above cases the ratio by mass of carbon and oxygen is 12:32 or 3:8. This illustrate the law of constant composition.
