Basement membrane:

Membrane on which epithelial tissue lie is termed as basement membrane. It consists of two parts :

Basal lamina : It is thin, made up of mucopolysaccharides and glycoprotein.

Reticular or fibrous lamina : It is thick, made up of collagen and reticular fibres.
