Logarithm:-

If N and a(1) are any two positive real numbers and for same real x, a^x = N then x is called logarithm of N to the base 'a'.

</u></strong><strong><u>I</u></strong><strong><u>t \: is \: written \: as \: x =  log_{a}(n) .

Logarithm are defined only for positive real numbers.

Also there exists a unique "X" which satisfies the equation a^x = N . So, log a (N) is also unique.

i.e., a^x = N (exponential function)

x = log a(N) [logarithmic function]

Example :- 2 = 16

4 = log a (16).
