Matter is a substance having mass and occupy space.Matter has different sizes, mass and molecules.
There are five states of matter-:
Liquid-A state of matter in which molecules are not too closed to each other but they have spaces between them.
Solid-A state of matter in which molecules are tightly packed to each other and does'nt have spaces between them. Thus it's very hard to break a solid.
Gas-A state of matter in which the molecules are very loose and have a lot of space between them.
Plasma-This is hot ionized gas and has positively charged ions.
Boss Einstein is the fifth state of matter, its dilute gas of bosons.
Hope it helped for more points ask in comments..................

Everything around us which occupy space and contain mass is called matter.
there are five states of matter basically there are three states of matter.
1). Solid state :- the objects which have definite shape, volume, distinct boundaries and have negligible compressibility are classified into solid state.
for example :- pen, wood, iron etc.
2). Liquid state :- the objects which do not have fixed volume are put under liquid state.
for example:- water, milk, oil etc.
3). Gaseous state:- The objects which do not have fixed shape or fixed volume are classified under gaseous state.
for example:- Air, nitrogen, LPG, CNG etc.
4) Plasma state :- Plasma is an ionized gas. plasma like gases have undefined shape and indefinite volume.
for example :- Ionized gas
5). Bose–Einstein condensate (BEC) :- A BEC is a state of matter that can arise at very low temperature. BEC atoms are closer than the atoms of solid.
For example :- cold liquid helium
hope it helps :)
