take out approximately 10 ml of this solution and put it into 90 ml pure water .

take out 10 ml of this solution again and put it into 90 ml of another pure water . keep diluting the solution 5 to 8 time.

this experiment shows that just a few crystals of potassium permanent can colour a large volume of water.

so we conclude that there must be million of tiny particles in one crystal of potassium permanent.
