According to mendleev the properties of elements are the periodic function of their atomic masses. That means when arrange in increasing order of their atomic masses then after regular interval repeat the properties.
At the time of mendleev noble gas not discovered so there is no place for noble place in mendleev periodic table.
But in mendleev table some gaps left for undiscovered elements like eka boron ,eka aluminium,eka silicon name given by mendleev when they r not discovered but when they discovered eka boron known as scandium,eka aluminium known as gallium and eka silicon known as germanium.
