There are 2 types of mixtures; they are:-

  1. Homogenous mixture
  2. Heterogeneous mixture.

Definition of:-

  1. Homogenous mixture:- A mixture containing it's constituents completely mixed together in a way not distinguishable from one unit are called Homogenous mixture. Example:- Sugar solution in water is a homogenous mixture.The molecules of water and sugar are uniformly mixed and cannot be seen separately.
  2. Heterogeneous mixture:- A mixture whose constituents are not completely mixed and distinguishable from each other are called Heterogeneous mixture. For example, The mixture of sugar and salt is a heterogeneous mixture. The particles of sugar and sand can be seen separately.
