Modernization is a process of transformation from rural to urban society. The characteristics of modernization on Indian society are as follows:

I)Application of technology - People have started using the modern methods of technology and mechanization.  

II)Industrialization- With the industrialization of a country, the people give up their traditional rural and agricultural economy.  

III)Rise in national income- It increases the national income of a country as the goods produced are exported for profits.  

IV)Increase in Literacy- People are educated at a large scale for better employment services.
