People get more facilities in cities as compared to villages, and they are more prone to work in industries and factories, rather than agriculture.
In India, urbanization started as an after-effect of industrialization, as villagers shifted to towns and cities to work in factories.
As an effect, it led to increased population in cities, scarcity of resources, but improved standard of living.
