Solution :-
(1) Molarity
Molarity is defined as the moles of solute present in 1 dm³(1L) volume of solution
➽ Molarity = moles of solute (mol) / Volume of solution ( L)
The unit of molarity is mol / dm³ or mol / L
(2)
As per the given data ,
- Mass of H2SO4 (W)= 4.9
- Molar mass of H2SO4(M) = 2(H) + S + 4(16) = 2 + 32 +64 = 98 g
- Volume of solution = 250 ml = 0.25 L
First let us find the moles of H2SO4
➽ n = W / M
➽ n = 49 / 98
➽ n = 2
Now ,
➽ Molarity = 2 / 0.25
➽ Molarity = 200 /25
➽ Molarity = 6 M
The molarity of the solution is 6 M
