When a body is does not doing any work it is said to be in rest. When a body moves from one place to another or does some action then body is said to be in motion.

For example :just image that A ,B and C are three persons .If A and B is in the moving car and C is observing it from outside then for C ....A and B is in motion but if we asked B that in which condition is A then he will say that me and A are in motion.
