Motion, in physics, change with time of the position or orientation of a body. Motion along a line or a curve is called translation. ... In both cases all points in the body have the same velocity (directed speed) and the same acceleration (time rate of change of velocity).

Motion is defined as movement. If anything changes its position with respect to the time can be termed as motion.

Motion simply means to move.

It is categoried into :-

  • Straight motion
  • Free Fall
  • Projectile Motion
  • Circular Motion
  • Rotatory Motion
  • Oscillatory Motion

It obeys the three laws of motion.

These laws are :-

First Law :-

Every Body remains in rest or in motion uniformly until any external force act on it.

eg. We are riding a cycle & a stone came in way & we fall down.

Second Law :-

The acceleration of a body is proportional to the force working & inversely proportional to mass of body.

a ∝ F

a ∝  \frac{1}{m}

a ∝  \frac{F}{m}

a =  \frac{F}{m}

F = ma

Third Law :-

For every action their is always equal & opposite reaction.
