a computer network can be defined as a group of computer and other peripherals devices that are linked together for the purpose of sharing data and hardware resources.
Types of network
1) personal area network (PAN)
2) local area network (LAN)
3) metropolitan area network (MAN)
4) wide area network (WAN)

Networking is connection tow or more  of devises to help share data or communication to each other.

There are main 3 types of network : -

LAN - That is Local Area network which is use in small are (Institute, Company like)

MAN : -Metropolitan Area Network Which is use to connect range of  city to city.

Ex. Your company present in City A and City B in that time you connect your company via network so that network is call as MAN.

WAN : - Wide area network, Which is use to connect in range of Country to county network.

Ex. If your company present in country A and Country B and you want to create network, So that network is call as WAN
