substances which are neither acidic or basic are called neutral substances

reaction between an acid and a base is called neutralization reaction. in this reactions both acid and bases cancel each others effect . neutralization reaction result in the formation of salt and water. during this reaction energy in the form of heat is evolved.

Acid + base = salt + water

NaoH +HCl = Nacl + H²O

1. The neutralization reaction is used to control the pH of the soil.
2. Neutralization is used in the manufacturing of antacid tablets.
3. This method is used in wastewater treatment in order to reduce the damage created by the effluents.
