Non metal are the chemical substances that have a tendency to gain electrons and become stable. They don't show the properties of metals. They usually form anions, acidic oxides etc.

For example, Hydrogen(H), Oxygen(O), Nitrogen(N), Carbon(C), Iodine(I), Sulphur(S), Helium(He) etc.
