------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------After Ghiyas-ud-din Balban becoming the ruler he wanted that the people should show due respect to the Sultan. So he introduced the Persian customs of salutation, known as sijdah -stretching out on ground in front of the sultan with one's forehead touching the ground to acknowledge power and  paibos or zaminbos- Kissing feet of the Sultan to acknowledge  his power.People did not like that the Sultan should be raised to such great heights. They felt that only God should be shown so much respect and saluted in this way.
