Partial pressure is the pressure exerted by a particular gas on the walls of the container among the mixture of non reactive gases kept in the container.

Suppose a container contains hydrogen, nitrogen and helium.

Then, partial pressure of hydrogen is the pressure exerted by the hydrogen gas on the walls of the container.
