Plasma membrane is covered in places with cholesterol molecules and proteins . It is composed of phospholipid bilayer arranged one after one .It is selectively permeable and regulates the molecules which are allowed to enter and exit the cell .All cells are surrounded by plasma membrane.

Plasma membrane is the boundary between the the cell and it's like a guide at a gated community. They are lipids with a phosphate group attached to the layers .

It is said to be Plasma membrane because it controls the movement of substances in and out of cells and is itself made up of phospholipid layer .
