Primary Cell and Secondary Cell. Battery or cells are referred to as the parallel combination of electrochemical cells. The major difference between a primary cell and the secondary cell is that primary cells are the ones that cannot be charged but secondary cells are the ones that are rechargeable.

Primary cells - an electric cell that produces current by an irreversible chemical reaction.
Secondary cells - A rechargeable battery, storage battery, or secondary cell, (or archaically accumulator) is a type of electrical battery which can be charged, discharged into a load, and recharged many times, as opposed to a disposable or primary battery, which is supplied fully charged and discarded after use.
