A Pronoun is a word used in place of a noun or non- equivalent.

It's a word that replaces a noun in a sentence.

Pronouns avoid repetition of nouns and make sentences a shorter.

Example :-

Priya lives in the Mumbai. It is located in maharashtra . \bf{\blue{She}} has many cousins.\bf{\red{They}} all live together in a large house.

The words highlighted are pronouns. The noun for which a pronoun stands is called its antecedent.

In the above example Priya is the antecedent of the pronoun 'she' and that the Mumbai the antecedent of 'It'.
