Real numbers contain all the rational numbers, such as the integers (-5) and frational numbers (1/2) and also all the irrational numbers (2.010010001).

Rational number are numbers which can be expressed as a ratio of two numbers. They can be expressed as ratio, decimal or whole numbers.
Irrational numbers can't be expressed as a ratio of two numbers.
