HOLA MATE

.

REDOX REACTION IS A REACTION IN WHICH REDUCTION AND OXIDATION TAKES PLACE SIMULTANEOUSLY.

e.g. · 1. H2 + F2 = 2HF

2. Fe + CuSO4 + → FeSO4 + Cu (Fe oxidized, Cu reduced)

3. C6H12O6+ 6 O2 → 6 CO2 + 6 H2O 4.

Explanation:

The redox reaction refers to reduction-oxidation reaction.

in this, one element reduces by either losing an oxygen atom or gaining hydrogen and simultaneously, one element oxidises by either gaining oxygen atom or losing hydrogen atom.

EXAMPLE: CuO(copper oxide) + H2 —> Cu + H2O

Here, Copper oxide is getting reduced while Hydrogen is gaining oxygen and hence, getting oxidised.
