reduced level refers to equation elevation at survey point with reference to a common assumed datum.

The most common used methods of reduction of level are :-

1:- COLLIMATION METHOD:- it consists in finding the elevation of the plane of collimation.

2:- ARITHMETIC CHECK :- the difference between the sum of the back sights and the sum of fore sights should be equal to the difference of the first and the last R.Ls.
