Define reflection, its type and laws of the reflection
Answers
Reflection: The bouncing off of light after falling on an object's surface is called reflection of light.
Types: It is of two types: Regular reflection and Irregular reflection.
Regular Reflection: When the light rays fall parallel on a smooth and shiny surface like mirror, then the reflected rays are parallel as well. This type of reflection is called regular reflection.
Irregular Reflection: When the light rays fall parallel on a rough and dull surface like cardboard, then the reflected rays are not parallel. This type of reflection is called irregular reflection or diffused reflection.
The laws of reflection: The two laws of reflection are:
- The incident ray and the reflected ray are always equal. Therefore, angle I = angle R.
- The incident ray, the reflected ray, the point of incidence, and the normal all lie on the same point on the same plane.
Answer࿐
Laws of reflection:-
1st law:-The incident ray, the reflected ray,and the normal at the point of incidence lie on the same plane.
2nd law:- The angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection.
