Residuary subjects are matters which are not included in any of the three lists. The right to make laws on these subjects is called residuary power. The central government (the Parliament) has been given rights to legislate on these subjects.

The subjects which are not included in the union and concurrent lists or had come after the constitution was formed are called residuary subjects.
