the process of releasing energy from food is called respiration. the process of respiration involves taking in oxygen into the cell using it for releasing energy by burning food than eliminating the waste products from the body.

respiration is essential for life because it provides energy for carrying out all the life processes which are necessary to keep the organism alive.

Food + Oxygen-------------> carbon dioxide + water + energy.

\textbf\green{Answer :}

\huge\textbf{Respiration :}

The process by which energy released into the cell is known as Respiration.

It happens in all living organisms all the times.

In this O2 is need for cellular process and CO2 is need for waste product.

Food + O2 ----> CO2 + H2O + Energy

\textbf{Types of Respiration :}

1)\:Aerobic\:Respiration\::

→ It requires oxygen.

→ Lots of ATP is produced in it.

→ It occurs in mitochondria.

→ End products are CO2 and H2O.

2)\: Anaerobic\:Respiration\::

→ It don't requires oxygen.

→ Less ATP is produced in it.

→ It occurs in cytoplasm.

→ End products are lactic acid and CO2.
